Commercial Interior Design Concept | Wicker Park, Chicago
A historic restoration and design concept reimagining a multi-use property through architectural preservation, intentional contrast, and identity-driven design.
This project was designed to transform a character-rich Wicker Park building into a cohesive, experience-driven environment that honors its past while elevating its present.
More than aesthetics, the focus was on how residents and visitors arrive, transition, and move through the space, and how each moment reinforces a sense of place, identity, and atmosphere.
DESIGN INTENTION
Inspired by the building’s original rose reliefs and historic detailing, the vision was to create an environment that feels stately, grounded, and quietly dramatic. Through the use of deep, moody tones, restored materials, and symbolic design elements, the space balances old-world charm with modern refinement.
KEY FEATURES
Rose-inspired design narrative woven throughout the property
Restoration of original terrazzo and hardwood flooring

This project reflects a shift from simply updating a space to revealing its identity, where every detail is considered, intentional, and rooted in the character of the building itself.
